Learning Tasks for this Lesson
THINK: In your reflection journal, respond to a prompt about how your thinking and participation in sustainability and stewardship have changed.
SHARE: In a group discussion on Google Classroom, review your questions from Lesson 3. You will post two of your questions and respond to two questions posted by your classmates.
REVIEW: We will add to the first class Popplet we created to answer the question, "What aspects of The Leelanau School community are impacted by our composting practices?"
CONCLUDE: You will review postings in an online compost forum and craft a response to a post about a composting problem.
THINK
In your Reflection Journal, your first entry asked you to consider and respond to the following questions: - To what extent does sustainability matter to me? - How do I participate in Stewardship of the Leelanau School community?
Review your responses to these questions and consider to what extent your thinking has changed during your participation in Greenhouse and this course. Then, answer the prompt for Lesson 4: - Why does sustainability matter to me? - How do I and how will I participate in Stewardship of my community? You can decide what your community is - it can incorporate your Leelanau community, your hometown, your family, etc.
Full credit for this assignment will be granted for reflections that are relevant, detailed, thoughtful, and honest. Your response should represent your thinking in at least 5-6 sentences for each question.
SHARE
Ask and Answer Forum In Lesson 3, you recorded questions in your Reflection Journal about what you wanted to learn about building composting systems. Hopefully, many of your questions were answered during your work in Lesson 3. Let's double check and fill in any information you might still be wondering about.
In Google Classroom, you will see a Lesson 4 SHARE Question posted on the class stream. You will post two of your questions from your Lesson 3 Reflection Journal in this stream in two separate posts.
Then, you will provide an answer for two of your classmates' questions. You may not answer your own question, but it is okay to answer a question that is similar to your question, as long as it was asked by someone else.
REVIEW
During our first Greenhouse meeting this week, we will take a look at the first Popplet we created, "What aspects of the Leelanau community are impacted by our composting practices?" During our face-to-face meeting, we will identify stakeholders in the Leelanau community who can help us learn more about the impacts of our composting practices. Then we will develop some questions to ask those stakeholders. Finally, you will interview your selected stakeholders and record their answers on our Popplet.
Since you will work together to generate the interview questions and to delegate the interviews, you will need to record the questions and the names of your interviewees.
This will be your final assignment for the course module! Congratulations! This assignment will assess your learning and ability to use the information you learned. Please take it seriously and put in the time to do your best work.

You completed reply will be shared with me. You do not have to post a reply on the forum. However, after you have received feedback from me and submitted your final assignment, you are welcome to share your reply online.
